"The Bite Button" App Launches, Introducing a Novel Solution for Parents Who Struggle with Mealtime
An app that leverages kids love of games, competition, and rewards to facilitate mealtime.
St. Paul, MN, November 24, 2017 --(PR.com)-- Available for iOS devices starting today, The Bite Button is a timer-based game that guides kids through meals while tasking them to finish each bite by a predetermined time. Reframing meals to be fun and entertaining, parents will find kids willingly finishing meals that previously sat untouched causing frustration for child and parent alike.
Setting up meals is simple with the Bite Timer & Bite Plan controls. Parents select the amount of time bites needs to be consumed by in order to avoid a "missed bite" followed by allocating bites across various food groups to ensure a well-balanced meal is consumed. Lastly, parents have the option of adding a dessert, which if selected, will be revealed to the child after a successfully completed meal. Once the meal is started, kids will be instructed on which food to eat through the display of categorical food icons. The time remaining is displayed in large font in the center of the "bite button" which they will press to complete each bite and advance. Artie, a cartoon alligator & The Bite Button mascot, is a prominent character in the game and provides amusing feedback after each bite.
“The inspiration for The Bite Button app comes directly from my wife’s and my own experience dealing with our two young kids who loved to make dinners a long and arduous ordeal,” said Grant Gardner, the apps lead designer and marketing director, “our kitchen table became the apps real-world test lab which allowed us to make modifications over the past year of development to adapt to their behaviors. While we expected good results, we were astounded at how well this app worked with our own kids and believe it will provide similar results and relief to parents around the world.”
The Bite Button is available on the Apple App Store for $1.99 in the US and is priced accordingly in other regions. Designed for Apple® iPhone®, iPad®, and iPod touch®. The Bite Button requires iOS 9.0 or newer.
