Australian Duo Collaborates to Create First Class Team Uniform

Greenslopes, Australia, November 27, 2017 --(PR.com)-- An Australian uniform company, Shirt Studio Corporate and an emerging Australian designer, Ashleigh Huntley have joined forces thanks to WordSkills Australia in what is a first-time collaboration to create a show stopping team uniform for this year’s international event.

This year, WorldSkills Australia ran a uniform design competition to give young designers an opportunity to showcase their skills, with the winner having their designs realised and worn by the Australian team at the 44th WorldSkills International competition in Abu Dhabilast month.

The winner was a young female designer, Ashleigh Huntley, whose designs were then bought to reality by Australian uniform company Shirt Studio Corporate. The two matched their skills to create what WorldSkillsAustralia believes is the best-looking uniform to date.

Shirt Studio Corporate Designer and Production Director, Fiona Anchal said, “With so many different countries competing in the competition, it was important the Australian team were well represented and that Ashleigh’s designs were treated with respect and bought to life accurately.

“The winning design, by Ashleigh Huntley is an earthy and naturallook–with crisp clean colours and lines with splashes of dynamic colour. The uniform included a formal option and a more causal piece and was required to be comfortable and professional looking at the same time.

“We were excited to be given the opportunity to work on this project. We are an innovative supplier and we love working with up and coming designers. This was a challenging but exhilarating project,” said Anchal.

Shirt Studio Corporate knows the benefits of working with other designers and the dynamic results this can bring. The designs meant that the Shirt Studio Corporate had the opportunity to hone in on their skills, including sourcing the perfect materials and managing the entire fitting and manufacturing process, whilst still Ashleigh focusing on design and team branding.

Shirt Studio Corporate worked with Huntley to ensure her vision came alive. According to Fiona Anchal, no adjustments were made to the original design.

“It was a true collaboration and we were honoured to work with the team on this uniform,” said Anchal.

Young designer, Ashleigh Huntley said she too was over the moon with the outcome.

“The uniform colours were inspired by the beauty and diversity of the Australian landscape. The sand, deep blue ocean and the rich turquoise of our pristine beaches and reefs were key aspects of this inspiration and the scarf/tie artwork was designed paying homage to aboriginal dot paintings in a spiral design,” Huntley said.

“Functionality was a key point too, as the team needed a design that would suit all shapes and be breathable in the hot desert of Abu Dhabi where they were competing. It was a beautiful thing to see the design taken from a drawing to real life and I felt like a proud Mama when I saw the whole team in it! Very exciting.”

As an Australian niche uniform company, Shirt Studio Corporate was pleased to be included on the world stage in this way.

The WorldSkillsAustralia competitors were equally pleased with the result. The uniforms received acclaim, being both comfortable and stylish. WorldSkillsAustralia has confirmed that they do not anticipate making any major changes to the uniform in the coming years, and are ecstatic about the partnership between Shirt Studio Corporate and designer Ashleigh Huntley.

WorldSkillsAustralia are not the only party content with the results of this collaboration. Huntley is an outstanding young designer whose work will surely be making waves in the fashion industry soon.

As for Shirt Studio Corporate, they have taken this new success in their stride. They continue to create unique uniforms for companies across the nation. The uniform industry is in dire need of the creativity and passion which this partnership speaks of.
