Major General Pernsteiner, will open day two of the conference with a briefing on securing Austrian defence logistics and support through modernised organisation and processes. The Austrian Armed Forces have been making use of home-based solutions so as to cut back on external outsourcing for land forces logistic requirements, the primary goal being to smooth future military vehicle supply and support chain operations. Moreover, this modernisation will secure national logistic capacities for both domestic and international operations.

Colonel Theodore Shinkle, Commander, DLA Europe and Africa, Defence Logistics Agency (DLA)
Colonel Theodore Shinkle, will represent the DLA and its efforts to overcome logistics challenges facing the Agency’s troop support in theatre. The main goal of the DLA Europe and Africa is to conduct seamless operations across international borders to supply US Army Europe with satisfactory logistic equipment and support. This is primarily achieved by working with host nation support throughout operations, surmounting technical challenges to succeed in multinational interoperability. Colonel Shinkle’s work encourages compliance with allies to realise the full potential of the EURAF logistics command in theatre.
Day 2 | 14:40 | Logistics Functional Services Capability package (LOGFS Cp): An integrated Suite of Applications in Support of NATO Logistics C2 Operations
Dr Franco Fiore, Chief Service Support & Business Applications Service Line, NATO Communications and Information Agency (NCIAgency)
Dr Fiore will introduce the NCIAgency’s Logistics Functional Services Capability package (LOGFS CP), an integrated suite of applications in support of NATO logistics C2 operations that provides specific applications, databases and secure interfaces to external systems to facilitate the work of staffs involved with logistic functions at all static and deployable Command Facilities of the NATO Command Structure. He will provide an overview of the program in relation to logistics in mission operations, as well as give a status update of the delivery timelines and transition activities.
