Waldorf School of the Peninsula Holds 32nd Annual Holiday Faire

For one day, the WSP Los Altos campus transforms into a magical winter wonderland. The joyous mood, creative activities, and beauty are an antidote to the pervasive commercialism that can surround us during the holiday season. Come to our annual holiday faire...a magical experience for all ages to enjoy.

Los Altos, CA, November 30, 2017 --(PR.com)-- Waldorf School of the Peninsula will hold its 32nd annual Holiday Faire from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, December 2 at its Los Altos campus, 11311 Mora Drive.

The event, which will feature activities for children and adults, offers a festive and gentle antidote to the hustle and bustle of holiday spectacle. The faire features a variety of hands-on activities for the whole family, including dipping beeswax candles, making wreaths using fresh greenery and handcrafting small gifts and holiday treasures from natural materials. Returning this year is the Russian Tea Room where the serenity of the season can be enjoyed with quiet music, warm tea and sweet treats.

In the Gnome Adventure, a popular tradition, children crawl through a passage lined with seasonal vignettes that show gnomes celebrating winter, spring, summer and fall. At the end of the journey, each child receives a small gem to remind them of the magical journey they enjoyed.

The day will also feature old-fashioned games of skill for younger children, such as Treasure Mountain, Leap of Faith, Troll Bridge and Catapult Castle. Every game ends with a small treasure as a prize.

There will be Children’s & Crafter’s Workshops offering crafts to make gifts for various ages such as rolled beeswax candles and homemade jump ropes. The annual and popular fairy tale puppet show, Rumpelstiltskin, will also be performed at several times during the day.

Free on-site parking and shuttles to nearby lots will be provided. A warm and nutritious lunch from the delicious Oaxacan Kitchen will be offered from 11 am to 2 pm this year.

Waldorf’s celebrated holiday boutique will again feature over 10,000 handmade and unique items for sale, including European wooden toys, candles, knit scarves, elegant shawls, children’s books, parenting and craft books, yarn and knitting materials, natural arts and craft supplies, dolls and rich essential oil lotions. Holiday guests are welcome to shop or to buy holiday trees at the faire.
