Hacienda Foundation of St. Louis Partnering with GiFT Through Margs for a Mission Program
St. Louis, MO, December 06, 2017 --(PR.com)-- The Hacienda Foundation of St. Louis will be supporting local non-profit organization Giving is a Family Tradition (GiFT) through the months of December and January.
The Hacienda Foundation of St. Louis’ program, Margs for a Mission, selects local charities every other month. Every Monday during those two months, the program raises funds for the chosen charity by donating $1 of every margarita sale and $5 of every margarita pitcher sold to the Hacienda Foundation. During the partnership, all proceeds are given to the partner charity.
All proceeds will go directly toward GiFT’s many programs, which support families with critically-ill newborns at St. Louis Children’s Hospital and Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital.
GiFT formed in 2005 as a small family holiday project when the organization’s founder, Jennifer Krassinger, decided to “adopt” a family in need for Christmas. This became an annual tradition, and through an outpouring of donations and volunteers, GiFT became a 501©3 organization in 2011.
Today, GiFT is dedicated to helping families with critically-ill newborns and aims to provide as much comprehensive support as possible to these families. Completely volunteer-operated, GiFT provides an array of services through 4 different programs, which provides family with a variety of essentials and assistance, depending on their needs.
“Providing a sense of hope and community to families in crisis is the most important thing we do,” said Krassinger. “One of the most gratifying parts is getting updates from the families we serve after they’ve gone home from the NICU. Seeing a healthy toddler who was born weighing two pounds is so heartwarming!”
One of GiFT’s projects, The Holiday Project, gives customized Christmas gifts to families during the holiday season. In this spirit, Hacienda will be “adopting” one family through GiFT’s Holiday Project.
“We will be personally involved with the family, and our staff will donate items on this family’s wish list,” said Alex Rodriguez, owner of Hacienda Mexican Restaurant. “We will also be taking a day to wrap all the gifts for the Holiday Project family before Christmas arrives.”
