Author Faith Strong Wins Prestigious Awards for "The Glories of Aging"
Dana Point, CA, December 08, 2017 --(PR.com)-- Monarch Beach Publishing of Dana Point, California and PenPower Book Marketing Services of Santa Fe, New Mexico is pleased to announce that author Faith Strong has recently won two prestigious awards for her new book of essays, "The Glories of Aging." Strong won first place in the 2017 Bookvana Awards in the Health & Healing: Aging/50+ category, and was a finalist in the 2017 Best Book Awards in the Health: Aging/50+ Category.
A long-time resident of Dana Point, Strong has won many accolades for both her writing and her philanthropy. At 94, Strong focuses on the trials and joys of growing older. She explores the concept that being old does not necessarily mean being quiet, afraid, or betrayed by pain. While the transition to senior and elder is beset with difficult challenges, "The Glories of Aging" reveals how it can also be a time of appreciating beauty, seeing new perspectives, increasing self-knowledge, and making a palpable difference in this world we temporarily call home. This collection of twenty-three personal essays offers brutally honest (and often humorous) insights into coping with such vulnerabilities as physical limitation, loss of privacy, wishing and wanting, unpleasant surprises, trying to “look good,” feelings of isolation, wardrobe shifts, making time count, and more.
The Bookvana Awards recognize books that elevate society, celebrate the human spirit, and cultivate inner life. The Best Book Awards celebrate the best books of the year in a wide range of categories, featuring traditional, independent, and self-published titles.
Faith Strong is an artist, author, and visionary committed to planetary transformation. She lives near the ocean in Southern California. This is her sixth book.
Praise for "The Glories of Aging":
"If you have been letting what you can’t do stop you from doing what you still can do, regardless of your age or stage, you will love this book!"
