Marla Simpson, President and Executive Director of Brooklyn Community Services (BCS), will receive the Human Services Council’s Leaders of Influence Award at the HSC 22nd Annual Leadership Awards Reception
New York, NY, December 10, 2017 --(PR.com)-- Marla Simpson, President and Executive Director of Brooklyn Community Services (BCS), will receive the Human Services Council’s Leaders of Influence Award at the HSC 22nd Annual Leadership Awards Reception, to be held on Monday, December 11th from 6:30pm-9:00pm at The Jewish Museum, Fifth Avenue at 92nd Street.
“I am especially honored to receive this award from the Human Services Council, which is such an effective advocate on behalf of BCS and the many community organizations throughout our City that share our mission of serving New Yorkers in need,” said Simpson. “I am proud to share this recognition with our dedicated BCS staff, our hard-working Board of Directors and our resilient clients.”
The HSC Leadership Awards also salute: Advocate of the Year, Melissa Mark-Viverito, Speaker of the New York City Council; Equity Champion, Alan Cumming; Friend of the Sector, Crystal & Company and Next Generation Leaders, Jina Paik, Nonprofit Finance Fund, and Mohan Sivaloganathan, Sheltering Arms.
Simpson will receive HSC’s Leaders of Influence Award together with other New York City nonprofit leaders: Nancy Biberman, Women's Housing and Economic Development Corporation; Mary Ellen Clark, New York City Employment and Training Coalition; Judith Kahan, Center Against Domestic Violence and Douglas O'Dell, SCO Family of Services.
