Career Step to Donate $4,700 to the National Military Family Association
Career Step donates $4,700 to the National Military Family Association for their Operation Purple Camp - a summer camp intended to support and encourage military children and their families.
Lehi, UT, December 15, 2017 --(PR.com)-- Career Step, an online provider of career-focused education and professional training, is pleased to announce that it will be donating $4,700 to the National Military Family Association's (NMFA) Operation Purple Camp (OPC) program. This marks the sixth consecutive year Career Step’s has donated $50 for each successful student referral enrollment during the month of November to commemorate National Military Family Month.
“We are pleased to donate to the Operation Purple program and the National Military Family Association for the sixth year in a row,” said Steve Tober, Career Step President and CEO. “We are grateful for the dedication and sacrifice of those in the military and their families, and we look forward each year to the opportunity to support them and show our appreciation.”
OPC, a summer camp run by the NMFA, is dedicated to strengthening, supporting and encouraging military children and their families. The summer camp is designed to support children coping with a parent who is wounded, ill or injured as a result of their military service. It also assists children with a parent who is deployed or will deploy within 15 months of the child’s camp attendance. Since 2004, nearly 60,000 military children have attended Operation Purple Camp free of charge.
“We are privileged to be a part of such a worthy cause that serves families who share the same challenges of many of our students and graduates,” said Vonda Andrews, Career Step Referral Program Manager. “We are thankful for the efforts of our referrers and the impact they have on our ability to contribute to this great program for military children and families."
With the flexible nature of its online training, Career Step provides an excellent fit for the needs of many military families. The school has helped nearly 20,000 military spouses over the years through its MyCAA-approved training programs.
