New Parents from Connecticut Invent an Innovative On-the-Go Stylish Diaper Bag for Men
Meta Backpack announces its new product launch and pre-orders on Kickstarter in 2018.
New York, NY, December 22, 2017 --(PR.com)-- New parents, Sobonneth and Tony Ji, of Stamford, Connecticut, invents a new type of travel diaper backpack - equipped with an innovative patent-pending magnetic strap system that makes hanging your diaper bag on strollers and car headrests easy. Their new company, Metabackpack, will be accepting pre-orders in 1Q18 on Kickstarter. The lightning quick magnetic cover is great for single-handed operation, and flips right into a changing station. The design allows for the sternum strap to run upwards and has a dual-purpose of turning into stroller / car head-rest straps.
Tony Ji from Metabackpack says, “By re-purposing the traditional cross-body strap, we’re giving existing tools more functionality without introducing additional hardware. It opens up new ways to carry the bag, whether it’s on a stroller or on the front or back of a car headrest.”
What makes the company's bag unique is the ability to operate the bag single-handedly without any buckles or zippers. With a pull of the tab, the front cover has a fold-out changing station that allows parents to change their little one anywhere. Sobonneth says, “The heart of the innovation is centered around an easy change inside cars and in tight spaces, or in places that lack changing tables. We happened to have stumbled upon the functionality and design that allows our bag to attach to the car headrest easily and the diaper pad to fold out perfectly onto the seats. It’s truly eye-opening how easy and quick changes can be now.” In addition, the front cover opens to a quick access customizable diaper caddy -diapers, creams, wipes, etc. - within easy reach.
Their inspiration came on a long 8 hour road-trip from Connecticut to Virginia for a family wedding where pit stops were just too crowded, and there was no place to change their newborn except in the backseat of the car. Tony says, “We had our diaper bag set on the floor and had a difficult time fishing for the right items. So we decided to perfect the experience in real world environments and applying the most effective tactics available (hence the name META).”
As the couple searched online for a good solution, they noticed there really wasn’t anything out there that offered a built-in fast and easy changing solution inside tight spaces.
Meta Backpack’s first model will come in two colors: dark mica and flint gray. Both are equipped with durable water-repellent coated exterior, aquaguard YKK waterproof zippers, premium German magnetic release locks, and anti-microbial fabric. Tony says, “We want accessibility to key items to be the primary focus, and this means less compartmentalization and away from zippered pockets. This is an illusion for creating organization. Every parent packs their bag differently, which is why our main compartment features customizable space using dividers. We focused on keeping zippers only for protective items such as a laptops and a compartment for wet/ dirty clothes.
Few notable features:
Beyond Parenting - the diaper pad is removable. The pull-out caddy organizer can be configured to hold camera equipment or as everyday carry. The durability and style makes this a fashion piece and a functional daily carry.
Stroller and Car Carry - the bag stands upright on its own and magnetically attaches onto strollers and car headrests, making it the most versatile bag on the market today.
Dual Hydration Carry - coffee lovers have a large side pocket for a 20 oz drink or a large thermos, and there’s also a hidden water bottle pocket.
Weather and Baby-proofed - guards against the harshest of conditions and even stains.
Hot Cold Thermal Pak - Easily stores 3 bottles of milk or baby food in an anti-leak cooler. It’s large enough to store a standard bottle of wine. Cheers to beyond parenting.
Laptop Carry - dedicated compartment stores up to 15” laptop and an iPad Pro.
Wet/ Dry Compartment - waterproof bottom compartment keeps dirty/ messy clothes separated from the rest of your items. Large enough to also store extra clothes.
