Fecteau Calls on Sen. Doyle to Resign
Mr. Matt Fecteau, Pawtucket senate candidate, is calling on current Pawtucket Sen. James Doyle to resign from office in wake of his failure to attend critical meetings and fight for a fairer funding formula for the PawSox stadium deal.
Pawtucket, RI, December 22, 2017 --(PR.com)-- Mr. Fecteau has issued the following statement:
"With the PawSox issue heating up again, Mr. Doyle should resign to make way for someone that will participate in the process. After his resignation, we should hold a special election to ensure Pawtucket’s interests are earnestly represented at the state level.
"While still on the state payroll, Mr. Doyle has already acknowledged he has failed to attend all the PawSox hearings or discuss this issue on the Senate Finance committee. The PawSox Stadium deal will impact Pawtucket for decades, and the fact Mr. Doyle doesn’t participate in this process is an insult to all citizens of Pawtucket; please make room for someone else.
"How much more damage will Mr. Doyle do to our community before he finally leaves? His slow-motion train wreck of a political career should have ended years ago. After hearing the last election from his family and friends how Sen. James Doyle fought for to keep the PawSox in Pawtucket, I am satisfied he finally confessed: Mr. Doyle did nothing and has – to this day – continued to do nothing. He has the worst attendance in the General Assembly and simply doesn’t answer anyone’s phone calls – including our state and local leaders.
"The time has come for someone to fill his role or we will be faced with serious repercussions for decades. Mr. Doyle, please step down, and make way for a sincere individual willing to fight for everyday Rhode Islanders.”
