Fundraising Successes and New Models Announced at Providence Golf Club Community
Providence residents held two highly successful fundraisers in 2017: the annual events for Making Strides Against Breast Cancer continued throughout the year and this year raised over $28,000. A special Latin Night party at the Golf Club raised $1,600 and numerous contributed items to help with relief efforts in Puerto Rico. ABD Development has also announced new home models in Heritage Green and Sherbrook Springs for 2018.
Davenport, FL, December 23, 2017 --(PR.com)-- The Providence Golf Club Community team dedicated to Making Strides Against Breast Cancer had another phenomenal fundraising year in 2017. Various events in October were topped off by the walk at Lake Mirror in Lakeland in Polk County, keeping their participation close to home. Other events that led to total funds raised of over $26,000 included the Pink Classic Golf Tournament and Casino Night.
“The Providence Booby Brigade had one of its best years ever,” said Margaret Hines, Residents Clubhouse Manager. “We are so proud of this team: we are small but mighty. This was the first year we walked in Polk County instead of Orlando and they were very happy to have us aboard.” The Providence Making Strides team has been going strong for five years now and invites anyone whose heart is in the cause to come participate.
Providence was thankfully spared damage by Hurricane Irma in September and the community was one of the few in Central Florida to maintain uninterrupted electric power. Residents reported to Providence developer ABD Development that their homes toughly withstood the hurricane force winds, surpassing expectations. After the storm, many homeowners delivered food and supplies to help those less fortunate in areas that suffered major damage outside of Providence.
When Puerto Rico was devastated by Hurricane Maria, a group of concerned residents planned a Latin Night fundraiser at the Providence Golf Club in November and brought in over $1,600 and other donations for Unidos Por Puerto Rico. “This charity ensures the money gets to the local segments,” explained organizer and DJ, Billy Rodriguez. “They take the donations and shop for food at the local grocery stores so that they can generate income to the local grocer to get him going again. Then they take the food they purchased and distribute it to the locals in their community where they purchased the food.”
It is these important fundraisers and other community activities that make Providence Golf Community such a special place to raise a family, retire, vacation, invest, and enjoy the Orlando lifestyle without the crowds and congestion of the downtown area. Naturally beautiful Providence has new homes under construction by ABD Development in Heritage Green luxury neighborhood and Sherbrook Springs golf cottages. Two unique new floor plans will be completed in 2018 along with many move-in ready models at various price points. Leasebacks are available on new models and interested new home buyers are invited to tour Providence seven days a week.
