Mar-a-Lago member and FL resident, entrepreneur, and owner of E Mortgage Management, Gregory Englesbe attended huge Holiday event Honoring Generations of US Veterans.
Palm Beach, FL, December 27, 2017 --(PR.com)-- Gregory Englesbe, CEO of E Mortgage Management, and prominent US businessman, witnessed a wave of patriotism flocking to the charity event of the year held at Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, FL where American Flags, evergreens and 1000 red roses set the theme for the Achilles’ 13th Annual SPIRIT of AMERICA Holiday Dinner/Dance which kicked off the holiday season on December 2, 2017.
Englesbe, a member of Mar-a-Lago stated: “Brian Kelley and Sean Koski of Ticket2Events did a spectacular job in producing this event. Everyone was in awe of these American Heroes, ages 92-98 as they walked to the center of the dance floor where WWII veterans where honored. Co- Chairs, Mary Bryant McCourt and Robin Saltzman were amazing, and it was a true honor to be a part of this heart-warming cause, dedicated to our US heroes.”
The non-profit provides athletes with disabilities with a community of support. Able-bodied volunteers and disabled runners come together to train in an environment of support and community. Within this community, runners gain measurable physical strength and build confidence through their sense of accomplishment, which often transfers to other parts of their life. The Achilles Freedom Team brings running and marathon opportunities to veterans who suffered trauma while serving in a branch of the United States military, predominantly those who served in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Englesbe added: “There truly is a unified 'spirit' in America. I was especially touched when Mary introduced Nathan Rimpf, a double amputee who lost both legs in Afghanistan. He presented an Achilles medal, representative of the 'marathon of service' to those who have given their all to us and our country. Everyone stood for the Pledge of Allegiance and National Anthem. This was such a wonderful cause, I look forward to next year’s event.” The 2018 event is slated for December 1, 2018. About Achilles International: www.achillesinternational.org
In 1976, Dick Traum, an above the knee amputee, found himself approaching middle age and out of shape. After joining a local YMCA, Dick began running – small distances at first and then, eventually several miles. Within a year, Dick became the first amputee to run the New York City Marathon. The experience was life changing, bringing a powerful sense of achievement and self-esteem. In 1983, seeking to provide that same opportunity to other people with disabilities, Dick created the Achilles Track Club, now called Achilles International.
