Texas Trust Donates $8,500 to Three Community Charities
Arlington, TX, December 29, 2017 --(PR.com)-- Texas Trust Credit Union traded turkeys for cash, donating $8,500 to three mission-oriented charities this Christmas. Instead of receiving turkeys and hams this year, employees elected to donate the money that would have been spent to several charitable causes.
Mission Arlington received $5,000 from Texas Trust. The faith-based charity feeds, clothes, mentors, and nurtures the hearts and spirits of those in need. It is led by Tillie Burgin, a former missionary in South Korea who launched the mission with support of her local church family in 1986.
Texas Trust employees in San Angelo gave $2,500 to Rust Street Ministries, where Bryan Jarvis, Rust Street director, declared, “This is a God thing! We decided to do a little extra this year for our neighbors and bought hams to hand out, which took a lot from our budget. Then Texas Trust came along with a check, covering just about the entire cost of what we spent on hams.”
Employees from the Athens branch presented a check for $1,000 to the Henderson County Food Pantry, which helped the charity stock its shelves just in time for Christmas.
“We appreciate everything these organizations do in service to our fellow man and hope this gift from the employees helped make the season brighter for many families,” said Pamela Stephens, Executive Vice President & Chief Operations Officer, Texas Trust Credit Union.
