Washington, DC, February 28, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Victor R. Biggs, the Executive Director of The Disabled Veterans’ LIFE Memorial Foundation is scheduled to speak at the Mid-Winter NASDVA Conference in Washington, D.C. on Tuesday. The presentation seeks to gain state support for the construction of The American Veterans Disabled for Life Memorial in our nation’s capital. The Foundation, supported by Congress under Public Law 106-348, has been tasked to erect the first-ever national memorial to honor our nation’s 3 million living disabled veterans and all those who passed before.

The NASDVA consists of the top veterans’ affairs official in each state and territory. Collectively, the NASDVA is second only to the Federal Department of Veterans Affairs in providing benefits and services to the men and women who defend our nation. Mr. Biggs, along with Mr. Barry Owenby, Project Executive for the Memorial in D.C., will be featured speakers at this year’s event, presenting the Memorial project in detail to all the state representatives.

“We at the Foundation are sincerely heartened that numerous states have already agreed to sponsor legislation to fund the memorial. Our Board of Directors, staff and donors extend our sincere appreciation to all of the sponsor states including the state of Maryland and the state of Iowa,” explains Mr. Biggs.

The NASDVA and the Disabled Veterans’ LIFE Memorial Foundation are both organizations that are committed to making a difference in the lives of our more than 3 million living disabled veterans. This week’s conference is a chance to pool their resources in this effort. The public can assist by contacting their state representatives to support funding for the Memorial.

The Disabled Veterans' LIFE Memorial Foundation’s mission is to establish a national memorial honoring veterans who became disabled while serving in the United States Armed Forces. The memorial is called “The American Veterans Disabled for Life Memorial.” It is a long-overdue tribute to those who have placed their lives in harm's way, and who spend each day living with a deep and permanent reminder of their willing sacrifice.
