Under 30 Female CEO Named at $2.5M+ Museum Tour Company
New York, NY, January 06, 2018 --(PR.com)-- Museum Hack, a New York City-based renegade museum tour company is pleased to announce the appointment of Tasia Duske as CEO, effective immediately. Duske was hired in March 2016 as Staff Manager and promoted to Chief of Staff in October of the same year. In that role, Tasia worked very closely with Nick Gray, Museum Hack’s founder, and other department managers to support strategic initiatives and staffing leadership company-wide. Duske’s education includes a Masters in Clinical Psychology from Eastern Washington University. Though her career began in the world of marriage and family therapy, Duske quickly realized that she could apply her education in the corporate world through staff management positions; making sure the “work families” into which she was hired received the same TLC typically provided in traditional family therapy. As part of the Museum Hack work family, Duske has worked on museum consulting projects with organizations from Kansas to Scotland, and has trained guides as Museum Hack expanded into their two most recent cities.
Duske is succeeding Museum Hack’s founder, Nick Gray, who will remain connected to the company as chairman and owner. Gray said this about Duske’s appointment to CEO, “In her tenure here, Tasia has proven to be a passionate, thoughtful, considerate, experienced leader...she’s entrepreneurial in ways that we need. With the help of all of our new employees and managers and tour guides...Tasia [will] take our company’s foundation, stabilize it, and build on it. She’s been instrumental in the processes and systems that have allowed us to grow and support our additional cities.” Gray made mention that now, with over 60 employees, Museum Hack is in need of a new type of leader, “Tasia has helped us evolve from a product- and marketing-focused startup into a complete company that’s ready for its next lifecycle of stability and growth. She...is ready to take [this role] on, and the leadership team has given her their full support.” Duske accepted her appointment to the position with a statement to the company, “I want to [take] our goals, our core values, our organizational structure, [and talk about] how to make our tours even better, and above all else - how we can reach more people with the life-changing realization, that museums are f***ing awesome! All together, let’s do it.”
Museum Hack is confident that these organizational changes will allow them to continue to shape and change the nonprofit and for-profit sectors within which they have previously operated. As Gray steps away from the day-to-day operations within the business, he will remain involved in helping Museum Hack continue to be creative and reimagine the adult experience within the cultural sector. As Duske steps into her new role, she will continue with many of the responsibilities she held previously in her position as Chief of Staff. In their new roles, both Gray and Duske will be focused on building upon what Museum Hack has done in the museum and corporate spheres, continuing to explore how for-profits and nonprofits can learn from each other, as well as exploring new and creative ways to spread the good word, that museums are f***ing awesome.
