Greenville South Carolina Winery Rolls Out Innovative Bottle Recycling Program

City Scape Winery rolls out new bottle recycling program designed to keep its wine bottles out of Greenville County landfills with innovative new program.

Greenville, SC, January 10, 2018 --(PR.com)-- A local upstate winery is rolling out an innovative new bottle recycling program aimed at keeping their wine bottles of out Greenville County landfills. After an April 1, 2016 decision by Greenville County to stop accepting glass for recycling upset many local residents, “We had to find a solution...,” says Winemaker and Co-Owner of City Scape Winery, Josh Jones. “We wanted to come up with a solution that didn’t just keep our bottles out of the landfill, but also rewards our customers for their effort,” says Debra Jones, who together with Josh Jones operate Greenville County’s only winery and vineyard located just outside of Simpsonville.

So starting in 2018, the couple is allowing customers to bring back their wine bottles to the winery in exchange for a dollar discount towards a new bottle. Staff at the winery will then sanitize the bottles using FDA approved methods and prep them for reuse. Currently the winery is only accepting City Scape Wine bottles purchased directly from the winery or other local area stores.

“It’s just the right thing to do for our customers, and our area as a whole,” says Josh Jones. More information can be found on the company’s website at: https://cityscapewinery.com/
