Paige Turner to Open for Cynthia Lee Fontaine at Casa Cupula’s 15th Anniversary Celebration
Puerto Vallarta’s legendary LGBT hotel brings birthday festivities to a climax with top drag performers.
New York, NY, January 11, 2018 --(PR.com)-- New York City’s drag darling and “Showbiz Spitfire,” Paige Turner, will be the opening act at Casa Cupula’s quinceañera (http://www.casacupula.com/15-year-anniversary) this January 19. Part of the hotel’s three-month celebration of its 15th anniversary, the hotel already announced that the grand event will be headlined by RuPaul’s Cynthia Lee Fontaine, better known as Cucu.
Turner, who is currently starring in her one women show DRAG ME TO THE TOP! at the Palm Cabaret in Puerto Vallarta, is one of the original creators, producers and host of NYC’s live drag reality show “So You Think You Can Drag?” The blonde-bombshell is a Glam Award winner and is known for her over the top parodies and comedy.
Cucu is the undisputed Miss Congeniality of hit reality TV show “RuPaul’s Drag Race,” in Seasons 8 and 9, and is known for her mixture on Latin and camp performance. At Casa Cupula, she will also host Casa Cupula’s new “Adam & Steve” party on Saturday January 20. This event takes place in the property’s new Pool Club (www.casacupula.com/poolclub), where Cucu will host a challenge to find a “Steve” for Adam that afternoon.
“Having these iconic drag personalities at our quinceañera is the perfect way for us to end our birthday celebration as it reaffirms Casa Cupula’s position as a current and leading LGBTQ property in Puerto Vallarta,” said Casa Cupula founder Don Pickens. “We are proud to have been part of a great movement to modernize the image of Puerto Vallarta by showcasing the contemporary and luxurious offerings found in our Romantic Zone, Puerto Vallarta’s ‘gayborhood,’ this event really shows that we are an important international gay destination, and Casa Cupula is one of the main offerings.”
Casa Cupula opened as Mexico’s first high-end LGBTQ property in 2002. In the years since, the 5-bedroom guesthouse and oasis for gay travelers has grown into an 18-room full resort. It has played an integral role in elevating Puerto Vallarta’s reputation as Mexico’s gay vacation mecca, by catering to sophisticated LGBT travelers.
During the property’s 15-year run, it has continuously updated its offerings adding Pump Gym & Spa, Taste Restaurant (featuring creative Mexican cuisine at www.taste.com.mx) and the new Pool Club this month. This month the property opened its new “Frida Suite,” honoring the style of the iconic, early 20th century Mexican artist Frida Kahlo. Designed to reflect Kahlo’s love for Mexican traditions and culture, the suite is easily accessible for those with different abilities.
