Helpusadopt.org Adds Fourth Cycle to Adoption Grant Program

New York, NY, January 19, 2018 --(PR.com)-- Since 2007, Helpusadopt.org, a national 501(c)(3), has been awarding life-changing grants up to $15,000 to couples and individuals (regardless of race, religion, marital status, or sexual orientation) so that they can complete the cost of their adoption and bring their children home. The organization is excited to announce an increase in annual grant money awarded with the addition of a fourth grant cycle. Helpusadopt.org will now award $400,000 annually over the course of four grant cycles — February, May, August, and November. This increase has been made possible thanks in part to the significant contributions made by The Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation, The Lily Foundation, and the Tsunami Foundation.

Over the past 10 years, Helpusadopt.org has worked to remove the financial barrier that prevents couples and individuals from building their family through adoption. “It has been our goal since the beginning to make our grant program quarterly, so that we are more in tune with the needs of our applicants,” says Becky Fawcett, Helpusadopt.org Founder and President. Fawcett and her husband have gone through the adoption process twice and know all too well how unpredictable it can be, especially when it comes to finances.

Helpusadopt.org Program Manager, Erin McMurtrey, noted that “we have seen a large increase in the number of applications we receive since introducing our first online application in 2017.” Previously, applicants were only allowed to mail in a physical copy of the application and supplemental materials. “This year, we anticipate that we will receive over 1,000 applications from families throughout the United States,” according to McMurtrey. The addition of a fourth grant cycle will help the organization address this increase in applications and the $5 million worth of requests they receive annually from qualified applicants.

Helpusadopt.org is currently accepting applications for the May 2018 cycle. Applications for this cycle must be postmarked by March 23rd or submitted online by March 30th in order to be considered. Those interested can visit helpusadopt.org/apply for the application, terms, and eligibility.
