About James S. Walker, Ph.D., ABPP
Dr. Walker is a forensic neuropsychologist in practice in Nashville, Tennessee. He is one of 8 psychologists in the nation who is double board certified. He is the director of Clarity Professional Evaluation Center, a program devoted to the evaluation of professionals suspected of impairment. In the past, he has served as the chief neuropsychologist of a brain injury hospital, and as a forensic neuropsychologist at Texas’ maximum security forensic facility. For 12 years he held a joint faculty appointment in the Neurology and Psychiatry departments at Vanderbilt University Medical School. His last two years at Vanderbilt he served as the Director of Forensic Services, a collection of faculty psychiatrists and psychologists devoted to research, training, and practice related to legal matters. His clinical interests include brain dysfunction and disease, violent behavior, addiction, and malingering.
When he’s not working as a neuropsychologist, Dr. Walker loves kayaking, hiking, and biking. He has mountain biked down Pike’s Peak, run the rapids of the Toro River in Costa Rica, and explored ice caves in New Zealand glaciers.
