Stephanie Nicolas Opens Counseling Practice in the Wake of Hurtful Comments by President and Reflects

Melville, NY, February 05, 2018 --(PR.com)-- Stephanie Nicolas MS, NCC, LMHC, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor practicing on Long Island, wakes this morning vowing to take her private counseling practice to the next level in 2018. Stephanie, 30, the oldest daughter born to Haitian- born parents has never allowed her physical disability to stop her from her American dream. The 2017 presidential election as well as the president’s numerous disparaging comments towards many populations including women, individuals with disabilities and most recently Haitians have lit a fire within Stephanie that can only be quelled by the sweet taste of success.

"The blood of people from that s**hole country runs through my veins," says Stephanie. "Haitians are some of the proudest, strongest, and most hard-working people you will find on the face of the earth."

Stephanie was born March 7 1987. At 9 months old she was hospitalized with pneumonia and was almost killed. She survived, but not before being confined to a wheelchair, a quadriplegic. "I've experienced a lot of ups and downs for both personal and professional reasons, but overall I wouldn’t change anything I went through because it’s made me who I am today."

Stephanie graduated from Stony Brook University with a B.A. in Psychology. She went on to obtain an M.S. in Mental Health Counseling from C.W. Post. Her experiences have allowed her to develop a skill set unique in her field. "My life journey has been a lesson in Advocacy and self-discovery," Stephanie reflects, "and that’s what I want to share with others. I am now a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Nationally Certified Counselor and I get to make a lasting impact on people’s lives."
