SMi’s 3rd Defence Logistics Europe: Exclusive Speaker Interview from UK MoD
London, United Kingdom, February 07, 2018 --(PR.com)-- SMi are delighted to welcome Commodore Adrian Aplin, Head of Defence Logistics Strategy, UK MoD onto the speaker panel for day 1 at Defence Logistics Central & Eastern Europe!
Commodore Aplin joined the Royal Navy as a Logistics Officer in 1987. His past experience includes command assignment on the Batch III Type 22 Frigate HMS CUMBERLAND as Logistics Officer and Damage Control Officer, where his time on board included a Non-Combatant Evacuation Operation off Albania and 8½ months deployed to the Gulf, encompassing Operation Desert Fox. Returning to ACDS (Log Ops) in June 2017, he became the first RN officer to be the Head of Defence Logistics Policy.
SMi are excited to have interviewed Cdre Aplin about his session and career experience.

Q. About you – what is your role and what perspective do you bring to the conference?
A. I am responsible for logistics strategy across all 3 Services in the UK MoD, ranging from people to future IS to high level policy. As a military logistician for over 30 years I understand the value of working with friends and allies and I hope the conference will further expand common understanding amongst us.
Q. What are the key areas for development in defence logistics?
A. Innovation in our supply chains to deliver greater agility, a reduced strategic base footprint, further efficiency and greater cyber resilience.
Q. What is your organisation doing to enhance defence logistics operations?
A. Running a programme, Defence Support Network Transformation, to radically change the way the UK MoD delivers support and to make it more efficient.
