Award-Winning Congolese Musician Hopes to Bring Beauty of Africa to Trump, Others in U.S.
Award-Winning African Musician Jose Hendrix Announces 2018 Spring and Summer Tour of North America.
New York, NY, February 12, 2018 --(PR.com)-- Jose Hendrix, an award-winning Congolese pop singer, is bringing the spirit of the Congo to North America as part of a three-month North America tour.
The Congo Warrior tour will kick off in Washington, D.C., this April with performances planned in May and June for New York, Kansas City and California. Dates will be posted on Facebook over the next 4 weeks.
Hendrix is a recent winner of the prestigious (See Jose Hendrix winning Best of the Best in video here Vodacom Congo Best of the Best. This award is similar to America’s Got Talent in Africa. His music is a blend of universally accepted pop with roots in Africa, Latin and America and is the result of a collaboration with American songwriter Kelly Myers. She writes the songs in Kansas City, Missouri, and Hendrix records them in a studio from the Democratic Republic of Congo.
One recent collaboration is a song (Bella Signorita) Hendrix recorded with South African pop star Fally Ipupa. Another song, Kiando, was produced by Grammy-winning producer Darryl Swann (Macy Gray) and will be on Hendrix and Myers’ second CD--Jose Hendrix-Congo Warrior. The Congo Warrior CD release will coincide with the North American tour.
Hendrix said he plans to invite President Trump to one of his shows.

The KC2 Congo Project
Jose Hendrix and Kelly Myers created the KC2Congo Project, a music collaboration program with US and African schools. Sharing inspiration one song at a time. You can see one of their collaborations here between a Kansas City French Immersion school and a school in Kinshasa, the capitol of the Democratic republic of Congo.
