ALIGN JV Select GroupBC's Common Data Environment (CDE) for Information Management on HS2 Phase One Project
Reading, United Kingdom, February 21, 2018 --(PR.com)-- GroupBC, one of the leading digital information management solution providers for the built environment in the UK, today announced that ALIGN, the bidding joint venture (JV) of Bouygues Construction, Sir Robert McAlpine, and VolkerFitzpatrick, has chosen the BC CDE to control the flow of information from their design partners, Jacobs and Ingerop, on Phase One of the HS2 project.
The ALIGN JV, together with its design partners, Jacobs and Ingerop, are responsible for the design and build of a key section of Phase One of the HS2 high-speed rail network between London and Birmingham. The 22km section will run between the Colne Valley, just outside London, and the Chilterns and includes the 3.4km- long Colne Valley Viaduct, as well as the 15.8km-long Chiltern twin-tunnels.
The ALIGN partners have an impressive, and successful track record of major project innovation, design and construction on rail and infrastructure projects.
ALIGN selected GroupBC after reviewing the market for a CDE solution provider that offered enough flexibility to adjust as the project developed, as well as ensuring control of information through BS1192/PAS1192 standards, such as document naming conventions and workflows. Having the capability to share information while retaining metadata from the client’s CDE and the Align CDE was also a deciding factor, so speeding up the flow of information. A rapid implementation time was also required to get the project off the ground quickly.
“We’re delighted to be working with ALIGN on HS2,” said Stuart Bell, GroupBC’s Sales and Marketing Director. “We continue to push the boundaries of digital information, whilst striving to ensure usability and simplicity lie at the heart of our developments. We are a market-focussed organisation and listen to our customer requirements to deliver innovative solutions to improve the design, build, operation and maintenance of built assets.”
