The International Association of Who’s Who Names Kathy J. Kolich as Professional of the Year
Kathy J. Kolich, of Uniontown, Ohio is recognized by the International Assoc. of Who’s Who for exemplary achievements in the field of Energy Law.

Kolich is a highly experienced corporate attorney and business woman, with a particular specialization in energy related matters such as energy efficiency, smart grid/smart meters, renewable energy resources, rates and regulatory affairs. During her career, she has successfully litigated a number of energy related cases in Ohio and Pennsylvania, including one worth more than half a billion dollars and another, $1.25 billion, demonstrating her world-class understanding and expertise in this very specialized area of corporate law. She is also a Certified Public Accountant.
Following graduation with both a Juris Doctor and a bachelor’s degree in Accounting (Summa Cum Laude) from The Ohio State University, Kathy enjoyed a long-standing career as a well-respected attorney and business woman. Having recently retired from one of the largest energy companies in the US, FirstEnergy Corp, where she held positions both in the legal department and in management over an impressive 26 years, Kathy has now switched her attention to her own business ventures, both in the private practice law firm of Kolich & Associates, and as CEO of an energy consulting firm, K2 Energy Advisors, LLC.
Kathy’s legal and consulting expertise was officially recognized when she was selected as a 2017 Professional of the Year in the field of Consulting. She plans on utilizing her extensive legal and business background, along with her entrepreneurial spirit, to develop her law and consulting practices into top notch firms with a reputation for a common sense, practical approach to resolving both legal and business issues involving corporate, regulatory and energy matters.
When not working, Kathy is active in a number of organizations, including both the Ohio and Pennsylvania bar associations, The Ohio State University and the OSU Marching Band alumni associations, the National Association of Professional Women, where she was awarded NAPW VIP Woman of The Year in 2014, and as a member of the board of directors of Buckeye State Bank of Columbus, Ohio.
With her son about to graduate from her alma mater and start his own career in business, Kathy hopes to spend more time on her many hobbies, which include travel, golf, scuba diving, and exploring the outdoors.
