DeSoto Rifle & Pistol Club to Host the Mississippi IDPA Showdown

Como, MS, February 22, 2018 --(PR.com)-- The DeSoto Rifle & Pistol Club in Como, will host 150 of the top IDPA competitors from around the world this September 29th as an IDPA Tier 3 Match, the “2018 Miss’ippi Showdown.”

“We’re looking forward to a great match with a lot of challenging scenarios. We hope all our shooters come out to compete in a fun, and safe, pistol competition,” said Will Schmied, Match Director.

IDPA competition is the most practical of the shooting sports. During competition a shooter can expect to face several stages, or courses of fire, each designed around a potential real world scenario featuring a variety of targets and obstacles which he or she must navigate in the shortest period of time with the highest degree of accuracy.

The International Defensive Pistol Association (IDPA) is the international governing body for the sport of Defensive Shooting. With 350 affiliated clubs and over 23,000 members, IDPA is the largest competitive pistol organization in the U.S. providing competitive shooting opportunities for shooters of all ages and skill levels.
