St. Louis, MO, February 24, 2018 --(PR.com)-- Walk It? Run It? Do It. Your Way.
A virtual walk/run event spreads awareness nationwide.
Race for Jane, an annual walk/run event, enters its third year as an online virtual event powered by social media. The virtual format allows participants from all over the country, or even the world, to dedicate a race to survivors of sexual violence.
For the virtual event, participants register and order race packets online. Race packets, including official race t-shirts, will be mailed in early April. On race day, participants will do their walk or run anywhere they choose and share the experience with each other through a race day selfie contest on Facebook. Participants also compete in online contests every week leading up the event to win gift cards and other prizes in their race packets.
Each participant receives a special race bib detailing the story of a local “Jane Doe” or “John Doe” who has experienced an act of sexual abuse. Participants dedicate their race to the anonymous victims and survivors speaking from their bibs.
Race for Jane will be held on Saturday, April 21, 2018. Proceeds from the event benefit Jane Doe Advocacy Center, a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit legal service center for survivors of sexual violence. Online registration for participants and sponsors is available at www.RaceforJane.com.
