Co-Writer of Upcoming Film "Hero Wanted" Delivers Self-Published Fantasy Novel "Dark Sands" Under Ronin Sword Publishing
Author E.R. Law spreads awareness of his new fantasy novel "Dark Sands."
Noblesville, IN, March 02, 2008 --(PR.com)-- In "Dark Sands", Ronin Sword Publishing and author E.R. Law unveils the magical world of Manritia, where the fate of its inhabitants, and that of a beautiful young woman named Dawn, hangs in the balance. Only Van Dines and Ashton Campbell, two misfits from the real world, stand a chance of turning the tide and defeating a demonic tyrant in the process. They aren’t heroes… but they’re doing the best they can on such short notice.
"Dark Sands" is a high fantasy fable in the tradition of C.S. Lewis’ Chronicles of Narnia and Poul Anderson’s Three Hearts and Three Lions. Firmly in the guise of an epic adventure, it has elements of parody and offers a glimpse at contemporary apathy in the wake of adulthood and all that comes with it.
“This is a passion project for me,” Law said. “I’ve been working on it for over thirteen years. It was nearly published in December of 2006, but I’m glad in retrospect that things didn’t work out. The ‘do it yourself’ approach has allowed me to maintain my creative vision. I’m not only the author, but the editor as well. I’m very excited about finally releasing this thing to readers. I’ve longed to do so since I penned the first draft when I was 13 years old. Fortunately for its potential audience, I’ve had some time since then to work out the kinks!”
Law further states that he came to Lulu because he wanted to be in control of the publishing process and found Lulu’s print-on-demand tools to be fast, easy and, most importantly, free. "Dark Sands" is available for purchase at www.lulu.com, in a marketplace filled with other unique and wonderful surprises.
“At the end of the day,” adds Law. “I just want people, genre fans especially, to have a good time reading 'Dark Sands'. It’s a love letter to fantasy and its pioneers (such as Tolkien and Howard). And, in a way, I hope it puts the readers in the shoes of its heroes – because they are structured to be like the readers and the fans themselves."

E.R. Law is a professional screenwriter and, in conjunction with his brother Chad, scribed what would later become the film “Hero Wanted,” starring Cuba Gooding, Jr. and Ray Liotta. He is currently working on his “magnum opus,” but the demands of film industry often intrude.
