Luke is the Cook/Chef at the Good Samaritan Society, an assisted living facility that provides senior care and services, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. With more than 32 years of culinary experience in restaurants, hotels, and cafes, Mr. Luke understands that the key to success in the industry is continued growth. He regularly works on new recipes, actively seeks out opportunities to work with the community, and thoroughly enjoys the customer service aspect of his profession that has led to many friendships throughout his career.

At the Good Samaritan Society, Mr. Luke prepares food for the executive staff, co-workers, and other employees. He is responsible for overseeing the kitchen staff and in charge of orders and deliveries. Mr. Luke also serves as a banquet chef at the Minnehaha Country Club where he trains new employees. He has worked at both the Good Samaritan Society and Minnehaha Country Club for more than 10 years.

Mr. Luke regularly caters weddings and parties and has participated in several cooking competitions for the Pork Producers, Feast of the Great Chefs, and March of Dimes Foundation. His previous employers include Royal Fork for 2 years, Cracked Pot for 1 year, Playhouse Pizza for 1 year, the Sheraton Hotel for 7 years, Sirloin Stockade for 5 years, Coyote Canyon for 3 years, and TGI Fridays for 7 years. Mr. Luke has also taught cooking classes and participated in wine dinners.

Born on September 6, 1969, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Mr. Luke is the oldest of 7 siblings. His favorite quote is: “You fall, you rise, you make mistakes, you live and learn. In his free time, Mr. Luke enjoys reading, gardening, bike riding, traveling, walking, boating, relaxing, and cooking for friends and family. His four children (Kelsey, Shanice, Jonathan and Ashley Marie) and four grandchildren (Dayton, Karsyn, Alexander, and Severus) keep him extra busy with family activities.
