iGlass Technology is the First Producer of Electrochromic Digital Blinds to Become the Member of US National Fenestration Rating Council (NFRC)
iGlass Technology, the world’s first producer of electrochromic digital blinds, a retrofit solution for Smart Windows, has joined other manufacturers of window attachments (blinds, shades, films, etc.) certified by the National Fenestrations Rating Council to improve buildings’ energy performance.
Irvine, CA, March 02, 2018 --(PR.com)-- iGlass Technology Inc. is proud to announce its membership with the National Fenestration Rating Council (NFRC). NFRC is an independent non-profit organization that establishes objective window, door, and skylight energy performance ratings. Other members include well-known brands like 3M, Asahi Glass Company, California Energy Commission, Cardinal Glass, Eastman Chemical Company, Pilkington North America, and many others.
The procedures for testing, conducted and certified by the NFRC, provide the customers with energy performance numbers that can be trusted.
What for? iGlass Technology makes great products. But it’s not enough. NFRC Membership demonstrates the company's commitment to establishing and maintaining objective energy performance ratings to help consumers compare products and make informed purchase decisions.
“While digital blinds serve many functions, they dramatically improve both visual and thermal comfort of your home or office by reducing glare and by blocking excessive solar light heat,” said Boris Maslov, CEO of iGlass Technology. “By purchasing Wisp® digital blinds with the NFRC Energy Improvement label, our customers will be able to increase the comfort of their home while decreasing their energy usage.”
Wisp digital blinds help reduce total energy and peak energy needs for air-conditioning by limiting excess solar heat and visible light, but there are also big savings on artificial lighting – multiple research studies have shown that regular blinds and shades are rarely, if ever, adjusted. Whether it rains or shines, the blinds stay down and artificial lighting stays on. By automating digital blinds and syncing them with a light switch, the energy savings on lighting can reach an average of 20% or more.

About Wisp® digital blinds.
Wisp® dimmable digital blinds is an easy upgrade to a Smart Window for all installed windows.
Just like dark glasses, Wisp-enabled windows stay perfectly clear even in their darkest tinted state. But unlike those glasses, a user doesn't need to take digital blinds off the window when the sun goes down – one can tune the tinting up and down with a switch in real time, the way one adjusts the volume of headphones! Moreover, different parts of a single window can be tinted darker or lighter than other parts. Wisp can be controlled by voice using Amazon Alexa or Google Home, or from a smartphone app. Wisp is supported by Android and iOS.
