Book Describes Successful Recovery from Alcoholism

Edwardsville, IL, March 02, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Professor Ken Kubicek PhD, has completed his first book, “Recovering Alcoholics - Why They Say They Are Successful” and is publishing it on Lulu.com, the online marketplace for digital content.

Kubicek completed a study of recovering alcoholics who were able to maintain sobriety for a minimum of six years. Treating the recovering alcoholic as the “expert”, he asked them to identify why they were successful in recovery when so many others have failed. These experts in recovery identified 13 attributes of their successful recovery.

Much research has been conducted to better understand the various aspects of this illness, but research seems to be lacking in understanding why successfully recovering alcoholics were able to achieve their success. Why would we avoid or ignore success?

Why wouldn’t we want to know how they came to achieve their success? Why wouldn’t we want to thoroughly dissect the reasons that they offer for recovery from this dreadful illness? Why wouldn’t we do everything that we possibly can to understand this success and try to replicate it with the still suffering alcoholic? Kubicek attempts to answer some of these questions in his book.
