Candace (Candy) F. Abbott is Named Professional of the Year by the International Assoc. of Who’s Who
Candace F. (Candy) Abbott, of Georgetown, Delaware, is recognized by the International Assoc. of Who’s Who for exemplary achievements in the field of publishing.
Georgetown, DE, March 07, 2018 --(PR.com)-- Author and Inspirational speaker, Candy Abbott utilizes her years of expertise in the role as the founder of Fruitbearer Publishing, LLC. (www.fruitbearer.com) Established in 1999, Candy and her husband, Drew, developed the company to offer professional services unashamedly catering to Christian authors and carefully guarding each author's voice and vision. At Fruitbearer Publishing, LLC, potential clients can receive services ranging from printing & binding, graphic design & formatting, editorial services, and much more.
With more than two decades in the field, Candy’s passion to reach women developed when she began writing in 1983. She has authored various books such as the Fruitbearer: What Can I Do for You, Lord; Gavin Goodfellow and the Lure of Burnt Swamp (Book 1 of the Burnt Swamp Trilogy); Feelings: Prayers for Women in a Wacky World; Mourning Breakers; Spirit Fruit perpetual calendar; and My 30-Day Prayer Diary.
Her latest book, released in April 2017, is I’ve Never Loved Him More: A Husband’s Alzheimer’s. A Wife’s Devotion. The story takes the reader through discovery, acceptance, adjustment, and battle against the ravages of what is often seen as a soul-crushing disease. Armed with faith, humor, and a history of spiritual victories, Candy demonstrates how she is loving her way through the mind-maze that would steal her husband of four decades. She engages Scripture, prayer, and spiritual support to combat this disease, weapons which can inspire others who are fighting chronic illnesses.
She was instrumental in co-founding Delmarva Christian Writers’ Fellowship (www.delmarvawriters.com) in 1993 and continues to serve as director. The group has branched out, with members starting two other groups: Vine & Vessels, which hosts an annual conference (www.vineandvessels.com), and Kingdom Writers Fellowship.
Candy graduated from the Caesar Rodney High School, the Institute of Children’s Literature (Writing for Children and Teenagers), and CLASServices. She has some college but is primarily self-taught, or, as a friend puts it, “home schooled by the Father.”
Heavily involved in her role at Fruitbearer Publishing, LLC, Candy extends her talents to other organizations in several capacities. She is the Founder and Executive Director of Mothers with a Mission (www.motherswithamission.org), a nonprofit organization established in 2014 devoted to strengthening the moral and spiritual foundation of our homes, families, and communities. She served as president of the Delaware Association of American Mothers 2012, a charter member and former officer of Southern Delaware Toastmasters, in addition to being elder and deacon at the Georgetown Presbyterian Church. She was also instrumental in co-founding Sisters in Christ, a women’s prayer group in 1983, and has hosted women’s retreats and conferences.
To further her professional development, Candy maintains memberships with the Small Christian Publishers Association (CSPA), www.christianpublishers.net, and Independent Book Publishers Association (IBPA), www.ibpa-online.org
A new store, Perfect Misfits, featuring Fruitbearer books, opened its doors in December 2016. It’s located at 22440 Lewes Georgetown Hwy., Georgetown, DE 19947.
Outside of work, Candy enjoys reading and spending time with family and friends. She and Drew have three children, four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren who live within close proximity to their home in Georgetown.
