Dr. Patel Presents: Psychology of Female Violence

Lexington, VA, March 10, 2018 --(PR.com)-- Dr. Bina Patel was a key note speaker at the Virginia Military Institute on March 7, 2018. The topic, “Psychology of Female Violence” encompassed contributing elements of female violence associated with suicide terrorism. A historical analysis of Islam and its origins were foundational factors that were presented alongside themes of religious, political, and socio-economic elements that contribute to female suicide terrorism. The discussion explored conjectured patterns of neuro-cognitive behavior and postpartum depression as crucial facets of radicalization. Cadets and Faculty members posed challenging questions, offering a robust discussion regarding gender related differences in levels of fanaticism and allegiance to suicide missions. Dr. Patel spoke of sensitive cultural norms of sodomy and rape as potential personal motivations for individuals to pursue martyrdom as a “legitimate” form of death. The evening ended with a vigorous dialogue on the hermeneutic loop utilized with religious scriptures as it relates to female violence.
