New Report by yStats.com: One Third of Connected Consumers Use Mobile Payments

Hamburg, Germany, March 21, 2018 --(PR.com)-- The yStats.com report cites primary sources showing that mobile payments are growing in use worldwide. China has more than 500 million people making payments through a mobile device, and mobile payments are popular in other emerging markets of the Asia-Pacific region. In Europe, the Scandinavian countries are the leaders in mobile payment adoption. Consumers in the USA have not turned to mobile payment in the same rate as Asian shoppers, though usage and awareness rates are in double digits, with mobile wallets used for in-store purchases as well as online. In Latin America mobile payment are used by about one-quarter of Internet users, and M-payment growth continued in Africa, as well.

Though adoption of mobile payment has advanced worldwide over the past several years, many potential shoppers are concerned about security of this payment method. In a survey cited in the yStats.com report, over half of global Internet users stated that mobile payments are not safe.
