CityCamp 2018: Our City, Our Future! is Taking Place April 21st at Oakland City Hall
Oakland, CA, March 24, 2018 --(PR.com)-- What: CityCamp Oakland: Our City, Our Future
When: Saturday, April 21st, 8:30am–5:30pm
Where: Oakland City Hall, 1 Frank H. Ogawa Plaza
Why: Oakland is at a Crossroads. Help strengthen our city through better use of technology, collaboration, and local engagement.
OpenOakland is hosting the 6th annual CityCamp at City Hall on Saturday April 21, 2018. CityCamp is a chance for Oakland organizations, city government and concerned citizens to brainstorm solutions to Oakland’s most pressing issues. This year’s theme is Our City, Our Future! The people are what make Oakland great and we have to fight to keep it this way. We welcome people from all walks of life.
The format of CityCamp is that of an unconference. Attendees have the chance to pitch their ideas in the morning. Ideas with the highest votes will become sessions in the afternoon. If you want to talk about issues of civic engagement, government transparency and accessibility, community organizing, business development, or education, this is the place to do it!
As Oakland’s volunteer-led civic tech organization, OpenOakland is leading a session on tech’s best practices to support community organizations in their efforts to make Oakland the amazing city it is.

CityCamp is entirely run on volunteer effort. We rely on donations from sponsors to offset the cost of the event. If you, your company, or organization is interested in sponsoring the event, please email us at sponsorship@openoakland.org.
