Bynari Announces Support for Kolab and iCalendar Standard with Insight Connector

Dallas, TX, March 05, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Bynari, Inc., a leading developer of messaging and collaboration software, today announced the new version of their Insight Connector 3.1.6 with the support for the open source server, Kolab. With the Kolab support, iCalendar (iCal) and vCard formats were also added. The new Kolab+iCal Connector 3.1.6 allows Outlook to share calendars, tasks, and folders with the Kolab server. It installs seamlessly and works without any changes to the server.
Kolab is a popular open source groupware solution used by businesses and individuals, worldwide. iCalendar is a protocol used by numerous email clients. This standard allows users sending meeting requests and invitations to accept/decline appointment time & date with any email client that supports the iCalendar format.
With the addition of iCalendar format in the Insight Connector, Outlook users will see a performance enhancement and complete interoperability for calendar and contacts sharing.
Other desktops and web clients that support the iCalendar format can share calendars and contacts with Outlook.
The Insight Connector works with Bynari’s Insight Server as well as other popular open source servers like Cyrus, Courier, Citadel, Dovecot, and now, Kolab! It also supports Sun’s Messaging Server.
