Topya! - Part of UK Active’s ActiveLab
Innovative children’s activity app part of global accelerator program.
London, United Kingdom, April 01, 2018 --(PR.com)-- TopYa!, a mobile app developer that creates children’s physical activity apps, has been accepted to the highly competitive ActiveLab program, sponsored by UK Active. ActiveLab is a global launch pad for innovation in physical activity, offering a 12-week program of fast-track support to develop, connect and scale the best and most innovative physical activity businesses from the UK and globally. The program offers education, networking, exposure and resources for organizations and businesses with a track record of success in the physical activity industry, all with an aim to combat the growing global inactivity crisis that has caused growing amounts of obesity and chronic disease in children and adults.
TopYa! has created a series of physical activity and sport apps, all of which are COPPA- and GDPR-compliant. The apps offer mobile-based children’s video challenges designed for children to experience the fun and benefits of physical activity on demand, at any time and any place, using technology that usually keeps them sedentary. Children view on-demand videos of sport and physical activity challenges and then take on the challenge and video themselves completing it. They then upload their video to the app and after receiving virtual coaching feedback, their video is live to share with the TopYa! community.
TopYa! platforms have inspired thousands of children of all skill levels and abilities to get off the couch and get active. Using skill and creativity, children have logged over 100,000 hours of extra time on practice beyond what they’ve done in gym class or sports practice. TopYa! was launched to combat the growing childhood obesity epidemic worldwide, which complements the objectives of ActiveLab. TopYa! helps teachers, coaches and parents keep kids engaged with sports and physical activity longer and increases time on practice outside of formal practice settings.
TopYa! co-founder Jason Keller said, “We are thrilled to give kids a new way to try physical activity skills and activities using the very technology that typically competes for their time and level of physical activity. Being a part of ActiveLab will help us further our reach and make a greater impact on youth globally.”
