Curahealth Hospitals Completes the Purchase of Specialty Hospital of Jacksonville
Garland, TX, April 03, 2018 --(PR.com)-- Curahealth Hospitals (“Curahealth”) announced today that it completed the purchase of Specialty Hospital of Jacksonville (“Specialty”) from HCA Healthcare Inc. (HCA) on April 1, 2018. Specialty is a fully licensed and accredited Long-term Acute Care hospital (LTAC) focused on treating patients that have underwent extended hospital stays and have complex medical conditions.
With Curahealth’s purchase of the hospital, the two companies have agreed to work together to ensure a smooth transition with little or no impact to the community and patients served every day. With this goal in mind, Specialty will continue to be an active member in the Jacksonville community.
“Specialty will be the highest profile example to date of our unique approach to creating patient centered care, and it’s consistent with transformative projects we’ve successfully undertaken across the country,” said Ken McGee, President of Curahealth. “It’s a combination of identifying strong quality-focused hospitals, then implementing our core values of Integrity and Compassion to produce a superior outcome for our patients.”
About Curahealth
Curahealth operates 10 hospitals across 6 different states. As part of a nationwide network of transitional care hospitals (certified as long-term acute-care hospitals and licensed as acute-care hospitals), we specialize in caring for patients who require acute-care services as determined by a physician assessment and subsequent documentation. These patients cannot be treated effectively at an alternative level of care or have multiple acute complexities that require daily intervention by a physician.
