Temporary Elevator Protection Being Provided by Builders Site Protection to Andersen Construction’s Block 20 Project
Builders Site Protection is providing Andersen Construction with surface protection for elevators, floors and toilets. This surface protection includes Toilet Sheath, All-Protect and Shoe Covers; ensuring that Andersen's new Block 20 project will be blemish free and will be completed on time.
Portland, OR, April 06, 2018 --(PR.com)-- Builders Site Protection is excited to be the surface protection provider for Andersen Construction’s new Block 20 mixed-use apartment building in Portland, Oregon. A combination of floor protection, shoe covers, toilet sheaths and personal apparel will be used to protect stairways, floors, toilets and elevators at the Block 20 project.
New All-Protect adhesive surface protection is being used to cover and protect several surfaces on the site, including protection for elevator cabs. All-Protect is a versatile surface protection as it features an adhesive back layer, allowing it to quickly protect vertical surfaces and sharp edges, such as stair treads and interior hallway corners. Because it can be used on such a variety of surfaces, All-Protect is also being used to protect floors.
To keep the hundreds of toilets being installed clean and free from use, Andersen Construction is relying on the patented Toilet Sheath. Toilet Sheath is a custom-printed plastic cover that slides over toilet fixtures and stays fixed in place with a drawstring. To keep floors clean and scratch free, plastic shoe covers are being provided to the workers on site. Waterproof, reusable and cost effective, these polylatex covers are ideal for working in a wet climate. These shoe covers were chosen by the superintendents as they run larger than polypropylene (cloth) shoe covers, which make them easier to use over work boots. Nitrile Gloves are being provided to workers on site to ensure their safety and to keep curing finishes clean.
Upon completion, the Block 20 project will feature 143 residential units as well as mixed-use retail space on the ground floor. A function of being the lengthiest design-reviewed building in Portland, attention to detail on the Block 20 project was imperative. Because the review process was so lengthy, any project delays due to replacing finishes will be devastating for the building’s owners. Due to this, Andersen Construction is relying heavily on surface protection products.
