New Poet/Writer, Jamal Jones Makes Waves with "Mind of a Mad Black Man"

"Mind of a Mad Black Man," written by Jamal M. Jones, represents the first part of a journey…a struggle to exit his twenties while dealing with relationships, career, social challenges, and the evolution into the role of man…a black man. Through his poems and essays he documents his frustrations, struggles, joys, and pains of that process. Set in a tone that seems to never expire, but instead to inspire, it will cause the mind, soul, and heart to reflect on their past and present.

Round Rock, TX, March 06, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Dotted Eye Multimedia & Publishing announced today the release of its first book entitled “Mind of A Mad Black Man: The Thoughts, Views & Random Banter of a Slightly Unbalanced Black Man” by Jamal M. Jones. “Mind of a Mad Black Man” is a book of poems and essays that reflect the deep thoughts of a new age writer dealing with the struggles that many men experience through their lives. Black, African American, or simply "man", Mr. Jones exposes the truth about himself and those like him. He stands naked in front of his audience and calmly paints literary pictures of life, love, and experiences that expose the reader's darkest secrets and thoughts through laughter, regret, and reflection.

“Mind of a Mad Black Man” displays the thought and power of today’s young urbanites. Mr. Jones writes the lyrics of revolutionary war chants on pieces of paper and mails them to the president. He takes pain from his chest and rewrites the story with an unleaded pencil.

Anthony P. Johnson, poet and author of “That’s It! Thoughts of Fantasies, Half-truths, and Outright Lies,” comments, “This man screams see me, hear me; I am here - while societal or cultural differences attempt to mute him.” Norma Brown Harris, writer, producer, and host of a Brooklyn, New York cable television program, declares, “ “Mind of a Mad Black Man” gets you caught up in the author's insanity or anger; his capacity to love; his ability to express real feelings about growing into manhood in a place where the more things change the more they remain the same. All tempered by hope.”

Through his poetry, Mr. Jones has detailed experiences that have a timeless appeal and represent ongoing struggles that challenge African American men and women. From police brutality, black on black crime, love, social and political quarrels, Mr. Jones exposes the painful realities that he faces on a daily basis.
Mr. Jones says, “I got a lot of things on my mind. I can't focus long enough to write a book, but I manage to rattle off poems or quick essays on occasion that address some of the madness in my head that spirals violently out of control.”

Although his book is entitled, “Mind of a Mad Black Man,” Mr. Jones is very sane. The thirty-two year old father of two claims the title should be left up to interpretation and represents a snapshot of the madness that black men have to deal with on a daily basis. “Mind of a Mad Black Man” can be purchased online at http://www.lulu.com/content/1291537, http://www.mindofamadblackman.com, and many other online book stores.
