CrossFlow Sponsored and Participated at HACK@CEWIT at Stony Brook University
Princeton, NJ, April 10, 2018 --(PR.com)-- The CrossFlow presentation by Dr. Yingchao “YZ” Zhang, titled “Sniffing the Network with CrossFlow,” showed students advanced traffic analysis.
CrossFlow Software Inc., a leading provider of network application and business transaction performance management software solutions, announced that it has sponsored and participated HACK@CEWIT at Stony Brook University. The Hackathon event over the President’s Day weekend brought technology, education, and entrepreneurship together at the Center’s 100,00 square foot next-generation education and research facility.
HACK@CEWIT’s collaborative workspace resulted in 33 cutting-edge student-built technologies and over 47 teams competing in a parallel 18-hour competition. The theme for this year is IoT and Security. A group of graduate students from Stevens Institute of Technology were awarded first prize of $2000.00 for Park-Detect, a web application that assesses keystrokes to detect early signs of Parkinson’s Disease. In addition, five $500.00 prizes were given to teams that presented the most original and innovative technologies.
The CrossFlow presentation by Dr. Yingchao “YZ” Zhang, titled “Sniffing the Network with CrossFlow,” showed students the advanced traffic analysis technology, which monitors and troubleshoots performance issues of critical application services, identifies inappropriate usage of valuable corporate or campus network infrastructures, and investigates security breaches via forensic analysis based on recorded network traffic. Students were intrigued and impressed by the power of CrossFlow technology. Many, including the winning team members, expressed their interest in joining CrossFlow as interns.
Hack@CEWIT offered a distinctive environment for IT vendors to showcase their technologies, receive product and solution feedback, and discover new use cases and applications through interactive discussions with the audiences. The event was also a perfect opportunity for the technology companies to enrich their reputation within the students and professionals through face-to-face interactions regarding products, company culture and increased brand recognition.
