Adventurer, Polar Explorer and Mountain Climber Alison Levine to Keynote FinFoundHer, the Ultimate Women's Business Adventure, May 19-20, Chicago
Chicago, IL, April 10, 2018 --(PR.com)-- Adventurer, mountain climber and polar explorer Alison Levine will kick off FinFoundHer, the ultimate women’s business adventure on May 19-20 at evolveHer in Chicago.
Author of the New York Times’ best-selling book “On the Edge: Leadership Lessons from Everest and Other Extreme Environments,” Levine has scaled the Seven Summits and skied to the North and South Poles, becoming one of only 30 people in the world to complete the Adventure Grand Slam. She was team captain of the American Women’s Everest Expedition. She formed the Climb High Foundation in 2005 to improve the lives of jobless women in Africa by teaching them to be trekking guides and porters, which enables them to earn a living wage. She also is the Executive Producer of the movie, “The Glass Ceiling.”
“No one teaches leadership or embodies adventure in the way that Alison does,” said FinFoundHer co-founder Kristin Fox. “She’s been there when things ‘get real’ on the mountain and in business and her insights for getting to the summit are invaluable. It’s an extraordinary beginning to our adventure.”
FinFoundHer is two days of dual-track adventure-themed immersive workshops designed to bring women founders (pre-start-ups, start-ups and growth-focused business owners), investors and industry experts together to learn how to scale the toughest peaks and summit your dream business successfully.
Start-up entrepreneurs will trek through ideation, from concept to construct; design a path to profitability; and learn to successfully navigate the tough fundraising trails.
Veteran entrepreneurs will learn to scale faster and smarter, while keeping their eyes firmly on the summit. Scalers will focus on growth strategies, including buy, build or partner; acquiring the competition; and evaluating capital-raising needs, options and planning.
Start-ups and scalers also will explore the many facets of capital-raising, from angels to venture debt and crowdfunding to SBA loans. Workshops will teach attendees how to build the proper business ecosystem to avoid working without a net; finding your perfect pitch; and the time-honored arts of selling and negotiating.
FinFoundHer is the creation of Kristin Fox, Holly Glowaty and Kristen Thiry, three adventurous entrepreneurs and advocates for women-owned businesses.
