Week One (June 11-15) “Tool Box Training” focuses on the transition from school to summer, which means a shift in our routine and prompts us to find new ways of filling our days and connecting with friends. Campers will leave with a "tool-box" filled with strategies for grounding and worry management as well as activities and projects they can take into the rest of the summer and share with friends.
Week Two (June 18 – 22) explores what it means to “Be An Expert.” Campers will ponder how we are all experts, look at the roles we choose and the roles given to us and explore how flexibility help us cope when we are outside our comfort zone, when we don’t know all the rules or when we lack materials or instructions. It will be a week of role play, theater games, journaling and creative assembly.
To create a sense of community and multi-generational connectedness, during both weeks, the girls will work with teen mentors, adult guides and special guests.
Girl Group Enterprises is the brainchild of therapist, Wesley Stahler and writer, Tanya Ward Goodman. Using the framework of Think, Write, Talk, Do, Be, they’ve created a forum for girls and boys to ponder questions, share knowledge and work together to navigate our changing world. Committed to creating a strength driven, community-building experience through talk, action and mentorship, Girl Group Enterprises hosts ongoing groups for boys and girls, single session workshops and provides programming and training through public and private schools for students, teachers and parents.
