Church of Scientology Hosts April Block Party
On Saturday April 7th, the Church of Scientology hosted its quarterly Downtown Block Party for the community. The event brought local neighbors, families and local non-profits together to celebrate. Over 1,500 guests enjoyed live music, carnival games, balloons, face painting, raffles and more on the corner of Cleveland Street and Fort Harrison.
Clearwater, FL, April 14, 2018 --(PR.com)-- “These events celebrate families and the local non-profits that help others every day, providing solutions for some of the every-day solutions in people’s lives,” said Nicole Biancolini, the event organizer.
The event included area non-profits who took the opportunity to share their missions and purposes. These included: Caregiver's Helping Hand, Inc., Civilian Conservation Corp, Inc., Community Service Foundation, Community Tampa Bay, Greater Tampa Bay Area Council, Boy Scouts of America, The Gentleman course, OneBlood, Pinellas County Foster and Adoptive Parent Association (PCFAPA), Rays of Hope, Rise up Serve Haiti Inc., The Benevoluntion Foundation and Veterans Health Network.
The Clearwater Fire Department brought a truck and distributed toy fire hats bringing additional smiles to youngsters of all ages.
The Church of Scientology’s own Flag Band with guest singers Michelle Henderson, Palmer Dernehl and Jonathan Miller was a highlight throughout the event. The wide array of music; pop, R&B, salsa and soul created a lively atmosphere for all.
Guests also visited the social betterment non-profit centers sponsored by the Church of Scientology: United for Human Rights, The Way to Happiness Association of Tampa Bay, Foundation for a Drug Free World, Criminon, Scientology Volunteer Ministers, and Citizens Commission on Human Rights. For those wanting to find out about these programs, guests were provided with educational materials that included drug prevention, the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights, non-religious moral education and Scientology Tools for Life.
The Block party closed with its eagerly awaited free chance drawing. Those with the lucky numbers won prizes such as gift certificates from local participating restaurants and $100, $250, and $500 VISA gift cards.
Ed, a local resident said, “The Block Party you put together is always very nice. I like everything, the food, the music! The great atmosphere is so nice and very comfortable. Thank you for the hospitality.”
