New "Creative Herstories" Podcast Empowers Women in the Arts
Creative Herstories interviews women, both in and outside of the film & entertainment industry, about how they use their unique skillsets in a variety of career paths.
Santa Clarita, CA, April 18, 2018 --(PR.com)-- New Girl Pictures, a female-focused production company, today launched a new podcast: Creative Herstories. The project features women that have worked in the entertainment industry who have found unique ways to pursue their interests.
In the wake of recent headlines about the difficulties of being a women in entertainment, and an unfortunate lack of podcasts that focus on women in creative careers, the team at New Girl Pictures is hoping Creative Herstories will offer inspiration to young women who are considering pursuing a career in the arts. Though following a creative dream can be difficult, it also has the potential to be incredibly rewarding, and the podcast focuses on that positive perspective.
Each episode includes an interview with a woman who entered a career in the arts, how their journey has changed over time, and what advice they would give to others who want to have fulfilling creative lives. Some interviewees are still working in the entertainment industry as actresses, writers, and producers. Others have shifted their talents into a new field like teaching or public health.
"Our goal is to showcase women who may not be celebrities, but who have 'made it' on their own terms through persistence and innovative thinking. We want to illustrate that there are a wide variety of career paths that utilize creative skills, and that there are many different ways you can find fulfillment," says co-host Laura Hunter Drago.
