The Skier’s Edge® Company Sponsors the 2008 USSA Masters Western Regional Championships
Winter Park, CO, March 06, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Despite blizzard conditions, road closures, stranded racers, and three feet of new snow, the 2008 Skier’s Edge USSA Masters Western Regional Championships were a huge success for the sixth year in a row. The races, scheduled from February 7-10 and hosted by Winter Park Resort, drew over 130 racers for the event from all over the western half of the United States.
Now in their sixth year as the event sponsor, the Skier’s Edge Company continues their commitment to Masters racing and the athletes participating in the sport. Their goal at the Skier’s Edge, is to “elevate Masters racing to a new and highly visible level—one never before achieved” says owner/founder, Joel Loane.
USSA Alpine Masters races take place on World Cup event runs and are designed for every level of skier ability (from entry level racers through ex-national team members) and have ranged in age anywhere from 18 - 80 years of age.
The USSA Alpine Masters program offers competition on regional, national, and international levels, and are just one of the many participants in the International Ski Federation’s (FIS) International Masters Cup (IMC) in the U.S., Canada, and Europe.
The 2008 Skier’s Edge USSA Masters races will conclude with the Eastern Region Championships (scheduled March 6-9 at Whiteface Mountain, NY), and the National Championships (scheduled for March 17-22 at Mammoth Mountain, CA). Internationally, the 2008 FIS World Championships will be held April 1-13 in Pichl-Mandling, Austria.
