Boeing Commercial Airplanes’ Chief Architect to make a Keynote Presentation at CIMdata’s PLM Road Map™ North America 2018 Conference
Jeff Plant will discuss strategies for influencing standards for data storage and exchange.
Ann Arbor, MI, April 26, 2018 --(PR.com)-- CIMdata, Inc., the leading global PLM strategic management consulting and research firm, announces that Mr. Jeff Plant, Chief Architect and Director of Airplane Level Engineering Integration at Boeing Commercial Airplanes, will make a keynote presentation at PLM Road Map North America 2018. This two-day event will be held in collaboration with PDT North America. Both events will take place May 15-17 at the Marriott Hotel, Tysons Corner, VA which is near Washington, D.C. The theme for this years event is “Charting the Course to PLM Value Together: Expanding the Value Footprint of PLM and Tackling PLM’s Persistent Pain Points.”
In his presentation, “Influencing Standards for Data Storage and Exchange,” Mr. Plant will discuss progress made on developing strategies to influence closing the gap between native and standard formats. Boeing has undertaken considerable research into the status and potential of relevant standards such as STEP for PLM information storage and exchange and JT and 3DPDF for real time collaboration and data exchange. The presentation will share how Boeing is partnering and collaborating with others to collectively influence an informed decision and to press for timely adoption within the industry.
Mr. Plant joined The Boeing Company in 1991 as a Structures Engineer, where he designed aircraft fuselage components in support of product development and customer introductions. He is currently Boeing Commercial Airplanes Chief Architect and Director of Airplane Level Engineering Integration. In this role, his responsibilities include leadership of the Commercial Airplanes systems engineering function and enterprise leadership of the PLM function, which involves functional excellence and integration of process and tool architecture, managing process and infrastructure investments across engineering, manufacturing & quality, supplier management, and customer services. He is also the Enterprise Engineering Process and Tool leader, guiding the development of digital, engineering roadmaps and related process and tool investments, and deployment.
PLM Road Map NA, in collaboration with PDT NA, is the must-attend event for PLM industry leaders and PLM practitioners globally—providing independent education and a collaborative networking environment where ideas, trends, experiences, and relationships critical to the industry germinate and take root.
