2313, Inc. plays for a good cause and walks away with the trophy. Teaming up with local companies and members of the community to raise over $2000 for Operation Smile.
Farmington Hills, MI, April 30, 2018 --(PR.com)-- 2313, Inc. participated in a charity Volleyball Tournament on Saturday, April, 21st at Downers Sand Club Sports Bar & Grill in Downers Grove, IL. The event was to raise money for Operation Smile: Adopt-a-Smile.
2313, Inc. started working with Operation Smile about 8 years ago after a colleague spent time at an Operation Smile mission site in South America. Since then, the company has held annual charity events. With the help of local companies and members of the community, they have raised over $50,000 over the last few years through hosting charity bowling, basketball, volleyball, garage sales, recyclable collections and more.
Operation Smile provides free surgeries for children to repair cleft lip, cleft palate and other facial deformities that hinder a child’s ability to eat, speak and even smile. In some areas, these children are even shunned by their communities and tormented in school. The reconstructive surgery Operation Smile provides only costs about $240 per child and takes less than an hour.
Saturday’s event raised over $2000 for the charity. The entry fee for the tournament is $20 per person in a team of 5-6 people. In addition, T-shirts were sold for $15. 2313, Inc.’s team took first place in the competition.
“It was exciting to see the team come together for such a great cause. They work hard to develop their careers and it is nice to see they use their determination for more than just their own growth. I am excited to see them make an impact and I look forward to the other events we have planned this year,” explains CEO of 2313, Inc.
2313, Inc. is selecting team members to attend a leadership conference in Punta Cana, Mexico where they will participate in another charity Volleyball tournament for Operation Smile. The team will also participate in the Day of Smiles with a goal to raise $5000 in one day.
In both 2015 and 2016, 2313’s fundraising efforts were recognized by the organization and they were selected to choose a member to attend missions in Bolivia and Guadalajara. 2313, Inc. has also participated in raising money with American Cancer Society and adopts a family every year in conjunction with Volunteers of America.
