Hollywood, CA, May 03, 2018 --(PR.com)-- Liberate Hollywood Presents RAW: A Fundraiser for Local Filmmakers and Artists featuring art by Tomer Peretz and music by group Bles’d, JEMS and performer Emmanuel Kelly.
On the evening of Friday May 4, Liberate Hollywood invites you to enjoy a night of fundraising for the arts while learning more about the short film RAW, listening to amazing live music and speakers, along with getting a close look at award-winning artists exhibiting their work to raise money for the making of the movie telling the stories of women afflicted by war. This Hollywood Gala for the upcoming film RAW is a tale of two mothers connected by the traumas of war and their personal battles to heal in the aftermath.
The creative and executive team behind RAW passionately believe this is a story that needs to be told. RAW’s goal is raising awareness, a view into a culture that is disappearing, shedding light on true events and attaching a cause. After the festival circuit, our goal is to develop the project into a feature.
RAW is a glimpse into the everyday war a female soldier faces back home and what lies ahead for a Bedouin mother who’s lost her son. This is a project dedicated to shedding light on what truly unites us and on the RAW human qualities we all share.
The goal is not only to make a film but make sure we are helping people heal at the same time. By making films that have this kind of social impact and then making sure the proceeds are donated to help others makes a second impact. ModernUnited will also develop a social impact campaign for its film to help educate the global public about female veterans, PTSD, military sexual trauma and depression.
Liberate Hollywood is dedicated to giving back to the community and those in need through supporting local artists and filmmakers. We are excited to support our community - and more specifically the marginalized and ever-growing population of women who have served and suffer from PTSD after returning home. It will be transformed into more than just a healing center: a performance, art, and community gathering safe-space in honor of women who have served and now suffer from the traumatic effects of war and live daily with PTSD.

Why give to this cause?
Every veteran suicide is a tragic outcome. Regardless of the numbers or rates, one veteran suicide is too many. Before 2015, no one knew how many female veterans commit suicide. Now, researchers are beginning to examine the issue, and the numbers are staggering: female vets are six times more likely to commit suicide than their civilian counterparts, and the number has grown steeply over the past decade.
A female veteran with PTSD is rarely discussed outside a VA Hospital. These women have one thing in common: they share the same pain and suffering as the women from Iraq and Afghanistan but in the millions. The only difference is they are called survivors. RAW is a based on a composition of true stories: women who served our country as well women in the Middle East who live in a constant state of WAR. Genesis.
All the money donated to the Liberate Hollywood Presents RAW event will go to the making of this movie benefiting nonprofits dedicated to helping veteran women suffering from PTSD.
