Treat Your Pallet and Soul

Fine art and 5-star food join for a powerful combination.

La Grange, IL, March 07, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Who would have guessed that when Mary Susan opened her art gallery/interior design business that she would one day be standing at her front window waving at celebrities entering and leaving the restaurant next to her store. Better yet, who would believe that Mary Susan and her daughter Brigitte, would have an important role in the design of a television reality show?

Brigitte, of Mary Vincent Fine Art Gallery and her mom were approached by the show to do cross-promotional work with Café 36, the subject of the show. They needed strong, bold artwork for the walls of the restaurant. Almost immediately, the large-scale oil paintings of Elisa Boughner were suggested. As Mary Susan says; “You cannot walk into a room that has one of Elisa’s works and not be struck by its beauty, complexity and often whimsical use of color.”

Mary Vincent Fine Art Gallery has represented Ms. Boughner for many years. Her colors stem from growing up in Mexico City, Mexico; admiring the brash use of color all around her. When she and her family moved back to the United States she continued her art career, eventually receiving a MFA in painting from Northern Illinois University.

The collaborative effort will display 8 of Ms. Boughner’s works at Café 36 as well as more in the main gallery space at Mary Vincent Fine Art Gallery. The show will be up through March. Come in for a glass of fine wine, a superb meal and a wonderful art experience.
