Forest, VA, May 07, 2018 --(PR.com)-- Custom Truck One Source (Custom Truck) will host a ribbon cutting for an expansion at their Forest, Virginia location on May 17, 2018. The ribbon cutting, facilitated by the Bedford County Office of Economic Development will take place at 10:00 am (ET).

The expansion will add 5.0 acres to the existing Custom Truck facility and will serve as the primary pick-up point for customers picking up equipment. The new area, offering housing for 75+ completed units, boasts features such as a bull pen with locked combination box for customers picking up equipment.
“We’re pleased to add this addition to our facility,” said Mark Sharman, Custom Truck President, Forestry. “This expansion allows us to more easily facilitate our customers’ needs and help our overall campus run smoothly.”
The new expansion will additionally provide a centralized display area for finished goods, staging area for finished trucks and will serve as the unloading area for chassis arriving from manufacturers.
The Forest, VA location has seen extensive growth in the last several years and is excited about the opportunities offered to the community in both products and services, and in economic development. Employment growth has increased dramatically, and Custom Truck is proud to offer employment opportunities to the Bedford County area.
Currently employing about 172 team members, the Forest, VA location has already hired 30 new people in 2018 and still has open positions. Approximately 75% of the workforce consists of production-based positions so this location is typically seeking to hire Equipment Assemblers, Painters, Mechanics, and other roles that support an industrial/manufacturing environment.
“Although we have seen our workforce increase greatly over the past couple of years, we have really strived to maintain the ‘small business, locally owned’ atmosphere. We want to bring in new team members that fit our culture and are looking for career-oriented opportunities,” Lauren Metz, Human Resources Supervisor, stated.
“We’re thrilled to see the economic impact that has come from Custom Truck One Source in Bedford County,” said Traci Blido, Economic Development Director. “We worked with this company in 2012 when it added a $3 Million Welding Facility center and now they’re at it again, growing that much further and adding new jobs too.”
